  • BOM markers. Files saved from Excel on Windows often start with a UTF-8 byte-order mark (0xEF 0xBB 0xBF). If the parser does not strip it, the first header key will contain invisible characters that cause silent key mismatches later.
  • Inconsistent row lengths. Some exports have rows with fewer fields than the header or extra trailing delimiters. A robust converter pads short rows with empty values and trims long rows rather than throwing an error.
